/NEXT WORKSHOP: 2-Day Workshop. Saturday, 4 May 2019, 10h – 17h. The second day of the workshop, 3 hours, will be decided by the participants.
You’ll learn the theory and practice of how to make beer at home, from raw ingredients to finished and packaged product (beer tasting included; take-home beers included).
Our goal will be to produce a 20-liter batch of home-brewed beer from whole grains, from start to finish, learning the secrets of beer-making art and science during the process.
The “hands-on” methodology will involve you in the real process of beer-making, while learning the principles at the same time.
Discover the theory and practice of:
– Raw ingredient selection.
– Sugar extraction from malt.
– Boiling and cooling.
– Fermentation process.
– Recipe design.
– Beer tasting.
– Purchasing/building brewing equipment.
– Post-fermentation options.
– Troubleshooting potential problems.
Margaret began as a hobby home-brewer in Canada in 2010. After moving to Lisbon in 2012, she again picked up the hobby, which soon became an all-consuming passion. In late 2016, she founded the AMO Brewery.
Since Margaret began home-brewing in Lisbon, she has led a number of workshops teaching people how to make their own beer at home, or in their eco-village or community association. She enjoys demystifying the world of beer-making and empowering people to Do-It-Yourself and control their own production.
